Why turf gets matted
Synthetic fibers are built to spring back, but repeated pressure in the same spots wins over time. Walkways, dog paths, areas under furniture and the spots next to doors are usually the first to go flat. Low infill makes it worse, because there's less underneath holding the blades upright.
What grooming includes
- Debris removal so the brush works on clean turf
- Power brushing against the grain, in multiple directions on matted areas
- Redistributing infill from high spots to thin areas
- A check of infill depth. If it's low, we'll tell you and quote a top-off.
When grooming isn't enough
Grooming brings back most matted turf. Fibers that have been crushed for years or damaged by heat may not fully recover, and we'll be straightforward about what to expect before we start.

Can grooming fix turf damaged by reflected sunlight?
No. Melted or scorched fibers from window reflection are permanent damage. Grooming helps with matting, not melting.
